AI information

“Creativity is better left unconfined”, hand written on torn thin MDF board lying on aged, cracked concrete.

I read a few AI Usage pages on a couple of blogs, the reason they wrote them, and decided to put mine up as well.

All content on the blog itself is hand written by me. The images are either mine, as in I took the picture with a camera, unaltered by AI, or sourced from Unsplash. I choose images that aren’t altered or created by AI to the best of my knowledge and judgement.

I do use AI and LLMs both for work, and for my personal projects. In both of those cases I explicitely call out the use, the models, methods, and the scope. I do review the code and documentation that it outputs before making it accessible to the world or the wider team.

I am responsible for the output of AI, and I treat it as such.

I do think that handcrafted projects, websites, art are valuable, and I will create those as well.

I do worry about the skill rot if I don’t do things by hand.

I also want my fellow coders, freelancers, illustrators, designers, and other professionals to be able to make a living, and for that reason when I need design work done, I will choose a human who will not use AI for their work.

I do want to create all my work without the use of AI, but after giving GitHub Copilot CLI a proper trial with a few projects, I can’t deny its effectiveness and capabilities to save me an enourmous amount of time while also producing actually good output.

If you run a blog, and haven’t yet created a /ai page, I encourage you to do so!
