I’m getting too many “How did we do?” emails

Have you ever felt a burning rage upon receiving the 87th “how did we do?” email in a day? So have I...

The words ”we hear you” printed on a white banner in all caps.

This is a rant. I don’t have a solution. But I’m also annoyed.

I need to talk to the bank for whatever reason. I get an email to rate the service I got.

Got a package delivered by EVRi. Surprise! An email asking how their courier did.

Or Yodel. An email.

Every Amazon delivery triggers an email.

Talking to a GP? Email asking how they did.

I am not filling those out. I am not doing unpaid work for their QA / HR teams. I do not want to spend my time and energy filling out the same surveys that I don’t even feel like I have a choice in filling out because I try my best not to be a bad person and cause anyone to get fired, which these companies absolutely do the moment someone gets rated 8 or below. On a scale of 10. How is that not absolutely insane?!

If you run a company, do you really need those “how did we do?” emails? I mean besides what whatever consultants tell you. What actionable data do you get? Is that better than just not annoying your customers? Could you just pay them? Or if someone complains by reaching out, can you call them and have a deeper conversation with them and pay them for their time? Not in store credits, but actual money.

That’s another thing! Paying me with store credits with terms attached ultimately still serve you by telling me I can only take advantage of this if I spend even more money! And I’m already annoyed at you.

There’s no real wrap up of this rant, just... annoyance. Don’t annoy your customers please!
